As a Principal and President of Sperry Van Ness/Better Capital Partners, Mr. Better actively originates commercial real estate loans and places debt and equity for his clients and brokers nationwide. He also oversees all operational divisions within the firm, is responsible for executing the firms business plan, lender and correspondent relationships, strategic alliances and weekly capital market update newsletter.

Prior to launching Sperry Van Ness/Better Capital Partners, Mr. Better served as Vice President/Senior Council member for Los Angeles based George Smith Partners Inc., a leading commercial real estate investment banking firm.

Mr. Better offers clients and brokers a full capital stack which includes: debt, equity and joint ventures for all property types nationwide. Mr. Better's extensive capital market knowledge and national lender relationships have made him one of the premier commercial real estate bankers in the country.

Prior positions include: Principal and President of Better Capital Inc., a commercial mortgage brokerage firm, Vice President of Originations for Commercial Realty Consultants Inc. and Director/Commercial Mortgage Banker for the Slatt Mortgage Company.

Mr. Better received his BA from Hunter College in New York City, his Real Estate Certificate (specialization in finance) from UCLA, is active in numerous commercial real estate associations and is a frequent guest speaker and moderator on the capital markets. Mr. Better and his wife Alyssa live in Los Angeles, California with 4 year old son Blake and 2.5 year old daughter Joelle.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness/Better Capital Partners, Mr. Hosea held management positions at JP Morgan, CWCapital, Red Capital and KeyBank. His experience includes commercial mortgage finance, credit analysis, loan originations, loan workouts, and bulk loan sales for the RTC.

As a principal and manager of Sperry Van Ness/Better Capital Partners, Ms. Rivera is primarily responsible for the origination, analysis and placement of debt and equity for commercial real estate throughout the United States, Canada, Caribbean and Mexico, and is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness/Better Capital Partners, Ms. Rivera was a Vice President at George Smith Partners, one of the most prestigious and top producing intermediaries in the nation. During her five year tenure at George Smith Partners, she has facilitated the placement of billions in mortgage debt, equity and mezzanine capital transactions for all property types. Her responsibilities included: client and lender relations, underwriting, and closing of debt and equity transactions. In this capacity, she has developed long standing relationships with high level decision makers. These debt and equity sources have led to numerous repeat businesses from her clients and brokers.

Ms. Rivera began her real estate finance career as an analyst and underwriter at Washington Mutual (now JPMorgan Chase), one of the oldest operating financial services firms in the world with assets over $2.0 trillion. Ms. Rivera was involved in underwriting and closing a $2 billion dollar portfolio consisting of commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS/Conduit loans). Ms. Rivera was also responsible for liaising with mortgage brokers and vendors, tracking deal flow, underwriting cash flows and performing due diligence for both acquisition and refinance transactions.

Ms. Rivera holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science Degree and is a member of various professional associations including: Commercial Real Estate Women, Asian Professional Exchange and Urban Land Institute among others.

As a Vice President-Regional Manager of Sperry Van Ness | Better Capital Partners, Mr. Tiffany is actively originating commercial real estate debt and equity on a national platform. His areas of expertise include: multi-family, retail, office, industrial, self storage, owner/user, NNN, single tenant, construction and more. Mr. Tiffany's responsibilities include working with SVN advisors and their clients, as well as extending the Wholesale lending relationships in the Western and North Western United States.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness | Better Capital Partners, Mr. Tiffany held senior positions at Glendale Federal Bank, Home Savings, CW Capital and Johnson Capital. His experience includes commercial mortgage finance, credit analysis/underwriting, and loan originations, structured and portfolio.

Mr. Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance/Business Administration from San Diego State University.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness/Better Capital Partners, Mr. Duan served as Director, Program Head, and Credit Officer for Citibank. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
